FOX Sports is the umbrella entity representing FOX Corporation’s wide array of multi-platform US-based sports assets. Built with brands capable of reaching more than 100 million viewers in a single weekend, FOX Sports includes the sports television arm of the FOX Network; FS1, FS2; FOX Soccer Plus; FOX Deportes, FOX College Sports and a majority stake in the Big Ten Network. FOX Sports includes ownership and interests in linear television networks, digital and mobile programming, broadband platforms, multiple web sites, joint-venture businesses and several licensing relationships.

JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Sports is searching for a Manager of Brand Communications to join their team in Los Angeles. This position is responsible for public relations work elevating FOX Sports’ brand mission to deliver live moments now that unite sports fans forever. This individual will drive brand publicity by leveraging FOX Sports content on FOX, FS1 the FOX Sports app and all web and social platforms. The incumbent will also drive brand publicity by leveraging FOX Sports content on FOX, FS1 the FOX Sports app and all web and social platforms. Additionally, this person will also leverage external project-based agency collaboration, manage live events and have an interest in developing creative content. Specific focus areas will include FOX Sports Films, co-produced events with FOX Network’s entertainment group, integrated digital and marketing campaigns, special projects and our biggest sports moments (ie. Super Bowl, World Cup) to provide a comprehensive, wide-ranging picture of the FOX Sports brand voice.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Connect and communicate with outside media and other influential voices and business partners that can amplify the voice and raise the profile of FOX Sports - responsible for pitching and securing coverage, @FOXSportsPR social media handle use, meetings and relationship-building to bring various public sectors an increased understanding of FOX Sports’ work
  • Create and execute strategic communications plans and craft forward-thinking messaging and work in support of the company’s businesses initiatives
  • Develop and manage creative concepts such as content and events/experiences that will elevate the brand across key categories
  • Management of project-based agencies alongside the rest of the communications team - collaborators that can bring new, interesting creative spirit to the brand
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to assess the PR value of initiatives/work from various departments and communicate the role and strategy of the Communications/PR functional group (and brand communications team, specifically) on various projects
  • Liaise with FOX Sports talent ably on a continuous basis and where relevant for collaboration on key storytelling opportunities
  • Travel as needed (mostly domestic, but possible international)

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Minimum of 5 years in public relations or brand experience with established track record managing large communications projects
  • BA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience dealing with senior executives, on-air personalities as well as current and former athletes/coaches
  • An acumen for seeing sports content-centric stories through the lens of broader culture – entertainment, lifestyle, arts – is required
  • Existing relationships with key media and influencers – online, social, print and TV – in these varied sectors will be necessary for success
  • Strong written and verbal skills as well as presentation skills
  • Must be a problem solver with persuasive skills in managing people and situations in fast-paced environments
  • A commitment to constant relationship-building and making new connections for the brand
