Salary Range: $36.97 – $42.59 per hour, 35 hours per week
Location: Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton (on the Yonge subway line)

Are you a developer that likes creating Math, Science, Physics, and English courses? Interested in creating interactive tools for high school students to learn course material? The Interactive Web and Mobile Developer‘s focus is the front end development, design and integration of educational elements into online courses and to help build these courses in a Brightspace and SCORM environment. Join a team of creative developers who build interactive digital components and innovative digital learning tools. Collaborate with Instructional Designers to build exceptional course components that are engaging and help students learn challenging concepts.

Builds and develops digital learning tools using HTML5 technologies
- Creates characters, treatments, storylines and game play, and codes interactive material and animations to enhance student learning experience
Brainstorms and develops content ideas and layout of creative content for digital learning tools that meet the criteria for Ontario high school courses
Collaborates with Curriculum team on achieving and improving courses and processes in order to enhance, extend and improve student success and achievement
Tests, recommends and implements new libraries and development tools
Writes technical summaries, creative documents and process reviews
Tests and reviews digital content for errors and bugs
- Records, edits and compresses digital video and audio
Portfolio of recent work illustrating equivalent to 3+ years of current or recent work experience in web development
Industry certification, commensurate with work experience or Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or similar discipline required
Experience in on-line course building and using SCORM and Brightspace (D2L) to build learning activities and courses
Applied knowledge and experience with Web technologies, languages, and tools in practical situations that illustrate competency with:
Modern front end libraries such as Angular, jQuery, Bootstrap, React
CSS frameworks such as Sass and Less
Ability to work with and mentor other developers
- Experience with analysis, design, coding, testing and version control
- Experience in gathering and analyzing technical requirements
Ability to clearly document processes and techniques
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
Experience and understanding of user experience issues, Internet design principles, W3C standards, accessibility standards, and Windows and MacOS interface standards
- Ability to conduct research into emerging Internet technologies and programming languages
Highly self-motivated and directed, with the ability to work independently and in collaborative teams
Comfortable with constructive feedback and making the required changes
Demonstrated flexibility with work assignments and the ability to work quickly and efficiently, by establishing priorities and working effectively under pressure
Strong problem solving, analytical and client service skills
French/English bilingualism would be an asset
