Overview:


Do you understand how digital marketing (including SEO, SEM, social media, CRM/email marketing) and partnerships work together to build audience and users for a product? Is it second nature for you to use marketing analytics and insights to drive meaningful audience and user growth? Do you enjoy finding new ways to grow – both tried-and-true and innovative? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment and mentoring a team to greater success? Do you thrive in environments of constant change? If so, we’d love to have a conversation.

You will lead a new team to drive audience and user growth for TVO’s full breadth of digital learning, current affairs and documentary offerings. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, this position will be responsible for developing the new team and the audience development practice for TVO. Promoting a culture of shared knowledge and best practices will be essential to succeed. This role will be involved in planning as well as day-to-day technical and executional activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a measured, data-informed approach to drive audience growth
  • Uncover new growth opportunities and design and execute creative solutions to attract and retain more Ontarians to TVO and the TVO portfolio of products
  • Develop distribution partnerships, search (SEO and SEM), social media, newsletters and new channels
  • Lead a team in their content reach, product registration and donor and purchase conversion efforts
  • Collaborate and leverage support from our analytics, brand, content and product teams to drive user growth and engagement
  • Manage ongoing tracking and analysis of acquisition efforts across various KPIs
  • Establish and leverage data to optimize campaign and ongoing strategies
  • Drive training of organization wide, cross-functional staff in audience development efforts
  • Help TVO understand and interpret the behavior of its users and the content they consume
  • Identify emerging distribution platforms and trends
  • Manage budgets associated with audience acquisition and retention
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in audience development, search and/or social media management
  • Proven experience and success in A/B testing and other established testing philosophies
  • Proven track record of building and managing high performing teams to achieve significant audience growth
  • Strong experience working across teams and designing and managing projects to completion
  • Strong working experience in using a range of SEO, SEM and social media distribution and analytics tools
  • Experience working with data scientists and data visualization tools and attribution modeling
  • Solid familiarity with Google Analytics or equivalent
  • Deep understanding of various social media platforms and the evolving strategies they require to gain reach
  • Aptitude for experimentation and adapting to fast-paced digital environments
  • Growth hacker mentality, with an ability to deliver results and to think outside of the box
  • Some experience in partnership development or business development is preferred
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to work multi-functionally and with leadership
