Events and Partnerships Manager At Taylor Gourmet

Job Description

MERCADO LITTLE SPAIN<br>EVENTS & PARTNERSHIPS MANAGER<br><br>The Event and Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the sales and flawless execution of private events within Mercado Little Spain. Additionally, he or she will serve as on-site contact for partner and sponsor activations, ThinkFoodGroup team.<br>This is a salaried position with an event sales commission structure. It reports to the Mercado Little Spain Director of Operations, along with TFG Sr Director of Event & Partnership Marketing.<br><br>Overall Responsibilities<br>• Book, create and host private dinners and events (>12 people) within the market and its restaurants <br>• Onsite POC for MLS partners and sponsors in execution of events, promotions and sponsor visibility<br>• Execute and report on monthly goals set in partnership with MLS Director of Operations and Restaurant GMs <br><br>Event Sales & Outreach<br>• Develop infrastructure to maximize sales opportunities, develop sustainable relationships within target groups and ultimately generate business to meet or exceed monthly sales goals<br>• Conduct outreach and networking in NYC and beyond to draw events business into the market<br>• Collect and leverage market/industry information about target audiences for sales and events efforts, to determine best strategies and tactics <br>• Create and continuously manage a detailed database of key sales and events targets to develop and nurture relationships, foster loyalty/repeat business and ultimately create a robust event sales pipeline<br>• Setup and maintenance of event management tool and training of relevant managers to ensure understanding of event “systems”<br>• Work with MLS Sr. Marketing & Community Manager and TFG marketing department to develop brand-appropriate sales and events materials<br>• Research and monitor events in the area that will provide business compression and group opportunity<br><br>Event Management<br>• Clearly define guest expectations, anticipate needs and ask questions to ensure a positive experience<br>• Negotiate events to ensure maximum event profitability while balancing guest expectation and value perception<br>• Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each large group booking, exercising a thorough understanding of menus and products <br>• Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and establish potential areas for improvement<br>• Assess results regularly and creatively brainstorm new cost-effective programs to generate awareness and trial among target audience segments<br>• Lead development of event pricing structure for large parties and events, as well as manage and update all sales and events menus on a regular basis<br>• Work with MLS management to create offsite catering plan once team is ready, and be responsible for selling, contracting and execution plans<br><br>Partnerships<br>• Act as onsite POC for all MLS partners and sponsors<br>• Oversee activation onsite for all partners and sponsors, including branding, programming integration and hosted events<br>• Collect content, including metrics and photos, for partner events and activations<br>• Help ensure that partners and sponsors get maximum value for their involvement in MLS<br>• Work with TFG team to identify new partners, either for one-time events or ongoing relationships<br><br>Requirements:<br>• Minimum 3-4 years experience in event management and/or sales. Marketing and branding experience a plus<br>• Professional demeanor and excellent work ethic<br>• Team player, Self-motivated, and excellent communication and organizational skills<br>• Strong memory, quick-witted<br>• Highly efficient, extremely conscientious<br>• Intuitive and must anticipate needs<br>• Proactive with strong follow-up skills<br>• Reliable, flexible, and willing to be available beyond office hours<br>• Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize work to manage time effectively and meet deadlines<br>• React to needs with immediacy/sense of urgency<br>• Discreet and able to manage confidential information<br>• Ability to give clear, concise directions<br>• Readily adjusts to circumstances and manages change effectively<br><br>
