Role:

The candidate will be responsible for profitable, sustainable sales and margin growth of specialty protein products through the BC & Alberta Sysco Sites.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Working with Sysco Sites (BC & Alberta Region) sales leads and protein specialists to identify, target and activate accounts through the sale of specialty products from SFM Vancouver and Fin’s Seafood.
  • Working with all OSR’s in growing their protein portfolio with SFM Vancouver and Fin’s Seafood products.
  • Developing strong relationships with key protein customers in the marketplace
  • Working as a resource with Sysco CMU and Healthcare to identify protein product solutions for multi-unit/Healthcare Customers
  • Partnering with Sales Leads at the Sysco Sites to enhance Customer Relationship management by assisting with Customer Business Reviews for pre-qualified Gold accounts
  • Through effective analysis of competitive market pricing, the CDM will act as a resource to maximize profitability while remaining competitive and relevant in the supply of COP product solutions
  • The CDM will act as the Conduit for the creation of applicable new products and will assist in the creation of relevant listing forms
  • Supporting marketing / sales activities at the various Sysco Sites, and act as a resource to develop protein knowledge within the Marketing Associate groups in those areas
  • Strength in building solid key relationships with Presidents, Sales Leads, OSR’s, Category Analysts / Planners, Business Review, Quality Assurance Associates
  • Providing Educational Seminars / Presentations to build knowledge and confidence with customers / sales teams
  • Understanding marketplace to grow sales with new products through research and development

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

· Strong culinary background with specific knowledge about center of the plate/protein segment

  • Strong knowledge about, and experience with the foodservice distribution industry, and understanding of the supply chain - from supplier through to end user/Customer
  • Strong and established communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills with confidence and experience addressing large groups
  • Strong knowledge of business and manufacturing plant processes
  • Strong confidence and comfort in dealing with Chefs and senior decision makers at all levels of the food service industry – specifically in selling COP product solutions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office and inventory control and order software
