Job description

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President Digital Health Solutions (DHS), this role will be responsible for creating a multi-year digital vision and roadmap, identifying the innovative and intuitive platform products, technology integrations and API services, that will contribute to growing engagement and evolving both the consumer and provider dimensions of the platform.

  • Establish and continuously evolve a partner network strategy to facilitate broad usage and sharing of platform products (e.g. API & technology integration strategy).
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders, partners and clients to understand needs, and design creative products and API/integration services that will create a competitive advantage.
  • Innovate on a daily basis to ensure we continue to grow and create new revenue opportunities with cutting edge products.
  • Drive successful delivery of products from idea/concept stage to rollout.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Define, manage, and evolve multi-year digital product roadmap, and vision
  • Understand market needs for partner connections (APIs/Integrations) and translate them into product and service requirements
  • Engage externally, working with our most strategic partners to facilitate innovative solutions to meet the needs of our clients
  • Design simple, elegant and robust solutions that address client and business needs and align with broader digital strategy & technology ecosystems
  • Lead the platform API & Integration initiatives in partnership with IT and business, through a shared vision and plan
  • Continuously monitor industry trends to find creative opportunities and evolve strategies
  • Extensive cross-organization collaboration playing a crucial role in interfacing with technology teams, Sales, Strategic partnerships and Marketing teams to define and deliver integration and digital products
  • Support our sales & strategic partnership teams by showcasing APIs to potential partners/clients, at trade shows and other industry events
  • Lead a team in delivering cutting-edge digital product solutions and client-centric services, continuously striving for high performance and achieving rapid delivery.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years experience in Product Development and leadership with a background in software development in a digital environment
  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science or similar
  • Extensive experience with designing digital products, APIs, technology integrations and Software as a Service (SaaS)
  • Extremely strong analytical skills and business sense - able to provide high quality, efficient, creative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to a wide range of audiences clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal form
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience working with diverse groups of people, in a dynamic environment, inspiring continuous innovation
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities
  • Open-mindedness, and an unfailingly positive attitude
  • Creative, innovative, entrepreneurial spirit

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
