Administrator - Empress, Alberta At Plains Midstream Canada

Location: Medicine Hat, Alberta

Job Description

Plains Midstream Canada is currently looking to fill the position of Administrator at the Empress NGL Straddle Plant located near Medicine Hat in Empress, Alberta. This is a key role that provides a high caliber of administrative support in the areas of payroll, accounting, computing resources and safety to the Empress plant. This role reports to the District Business Lead and supports the internal staff, Area Supervisors, and District Superintendent, while acting as a key liaison with Calgary Corporate Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the leadership team appointments, meeting requests, travel and accommodations;

  • Supporting the facilitation of AMT monthly meetings including arrangements, scribe minutes etc.;

  • Maintaining and updating the Learning Management System training matrices and database for all plant personnel;

  • Collecting, entering, verifying accuracy and processing monthly time sheets for payroll;

  • Entering data into the plant production accounting software;

  • Processing accounts payable invoices;

  • Managing the ARI Pool Vehicle program;

  • Updating and maintaining corporate contact lists;

  • Acting as a liaison to assist in problem solving IT and telephone issues;

  • Preparing and distributing various month end reports;

  • Supporting the tracking and updating work completion reports in relation to the Equipment Maintenance Program;

  • Processing staff expense and PCard reports;

  • Generating purchase orders for the district;

  • Arrange adhoc functions as required (ie: Christmas functions); and

  • Other general office duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma;

  • 2 year business diploma or 2-3 years of experience working as an administrative assistant;

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;

  • Oil and Gas industry experience is preferred;

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Outlook, Word and Intermediate to Advanced Excel;

  • Able to contribute within a team environment;

  • Possess excellent organizational skills;

  • Demonstrates a high level of motivation with excellent communication skills;

  • Shows initiative and has a strong work ethic; and

  • Enjoys working in a busy office environment.
