About the role
In this newly created role the VP, General Manager – E-Commerce Marketplace will be accountable for defining and executing the long-term strategy of the new E-Commerce marketplace business, as well as overall P&L performance. They will be responsible for building the product strategy and roadmap, go-to-market plan, and ultimately launching and operating the business. This position will report to the SVP, Loblaw Digital and be a member of the Loblaw Digital senior leadership team where they will be a key contributor to the overall strategy and culture of the organization.
What you'll do
Define the long-term vision, customer experience and business strategy of the new e-commerce marketplace
Oversee the build, launch and evolution of the marketplace platform by leading a cross-functional team, including product management, product design, technology, marketing and merchandising
Create full P&L forecast and plans to deliver against it - effectively manage and drive the delivery of the business KPIs
Oversee operations of all aspects of the business (e.g., online assortment, vendor negotiations, promotional calendar, demand generation, fulfillment, customer service, etc.)
Recruit a best in class marketplace team
Shape the future of Loblaw Digital as a member of the senior leadership team
Does this sound like you?
Successful track record of building, operating and scaling digital businesses, either as a founder or senior executive
15+ years of experience within a digital organization required, including senior level roles leading large cross functional teams using modern agile techniques
Strong preference for prior experience building and operating a successful marketplace
Demonstrated ability to drive strategy as well as day to day operations of an ecommerce business
Leader with ability to negotiate and influence both internal and external stakeholders
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity. High degree of proactive “hands-on” critical thinking and mobilizing actions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Completion of an undergraduate degree from a top program, preferably in a technical field. Post-graduate degree an asset
