Senior Manager, Marketing technology & Data Platform At Loblaw Digital

Location: Toronto, Ontario

The impact you’ll make
As a Senior Manager, Marketing Technology and Data platform, you will impact our business by enabling the marketing teams to deliver best in class personalized experiences at scale across all platforms and all channels. Your mandate will be to build the underlying data platform and marketing technology stack powering the Marketing Intelligence team capabilities in terms of Audience Strategy and Enablement as well as Marketing Analytics & Insights, including managing data governance and processes.
You will be working closely with our dedicated and newly assembled Marketing Data Science team to own and develop the roadmap for both integrations between our data platforms and marketing-specific platforms. We’re looking to turn our enviable wealth of data into actionable insights and meaningful recommendations that drive growth and improved engagement across all of our lines of business, and a customer-focused mindset is a must-have.

What You’ll do:

  • Manage multiple marketing and data projects in parallel and oversee their completion from start to finish, while setting goals and project milestones (includes: reporting and dashboards automation, offline to online measurement, audience management and martech platforms implementation)
  • Serve as an internal champion for marketing technology initiatives by providing thought leadership and knowledge building for the Marketing Intelligence and Digital Services teams and helping marketers learn how to take advantage of new tools and embraces data driven marketing
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Manager, Audience Platform and Senior Manager, Marketing Analytics & Insights to understand their data and martech/ad tech needs to enable their use cases and fulfill their mandates
  • Lead the strategic roadmap for marketing technology by establishing necessary processes, infrastructure, and tools to support the development, distribution, and tracking of marketing activities to achieve business objectives
  • Work with the Marketing data science team on data automation projects (ex: custom audiences, In-store sales data into our marketing platforms to enable our online/offline use cases, reporting and dashboards, …)
  • Work with our legal, privacy and information security teams to make sure all data initiatives are compliant and approved
  • Be an advocate for the Marketing Intelligence team within the organization by presenting and socializing the current and new capabilities being built and how they can unlock growth opportunities for different functions within the organization
  • Mentor the talented individual contributors on your team to grow their own analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Does this sound like you?

  • 8+ years of experience working in digital marketing or marketing technology either on the agency side or client/brand side
  • Very strong knowledge of the adtech/martech ecosystem and platforms
  • Experience working with data and tech teams to build data pipelines to enable marketing use cases (segmentation, attribution, reporting, modelling, advance analytics, personalization, experience mapping, identity resolution, …)
  • Experience working with a wide range of technology solutions (Google Marketing Platform, Adobe Analytics/Audience Manage/Target, Salesforce, DCO, ESP’s, etc..)
  • Self-motivated with the ability to influence and collaborate with other teams and individuals
  • Experience in vendor management and deploying solutions across multiple business units
  • Strategic thinker
  • Takes a broad view of the business, industry, and consumer environment to anticipate changes, process re-engineering and technical innovations
  • Ability to bring cross-functional groups together, set objectives and achieve goals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, proactive and able to define and execute projects independently
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities/needs and willing to embrace change
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery is a big plus!
