Senior Manager, Marketing Intelligence At Loblaw Digital

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Job Description

As the Senior Manager, Marketing Intelligence you will support the Director, Marketing Intelligence with the strategic direction and delivery of Marketing Intelligence (MI) capabilities and offerings, as well as overseeing the MI roadmap based on business priorities, working with all lines of business across Loblaw Digital. You will work cross-functionally with peers in web analytics, data science, business intelligence and other critical functions to develop a holistic view of marketing performance and growth opportunities, as well as with our technology teams on various data and technology projects to advance our audience targeting strategy, analytics capabilities and depth of customer insights.

You have extensive experience in finding and applying data-driven insights to lead business and marketing strategies. You have strong leadership skills and enjoy coaching, mentoring and developing individual contributors. You are a strong and confident communicator who is comfortable adapting to many different levels of data availability, analytics maturity and technology platforms/toolsets.. Lastly, you excel with delivering solutions to data problems, love data and analytics and using them to support product and business decisions.

What you'll do

  • Lead and guide the Marketing Intelligence team members through their different mandates and grow the team to support each areas of focus, providing resource allocation, skillset alignment, mentorship, professional development, and training.
  • Build, manage and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders at Loblaw Digital across all lines of business and supporting functions as well as with our external partners (Adobe, Google, …)
  • Manage multiple marketing and data projects in parallel and oversee their completion from start to finish, while setting goals and project milestones (includes: reporting and dashboards automation, offline to online measurement, audience management and martech platforms implementation)
  • Drive excellent practices and technical standards for establishing KPIs and goals for Marketing and Demand Generation teams, developing information suites (dashboards, reports, visualizations) fit for different levels of consumption, and marketing campaign tracking and measurement
  • Present findings and recommendations for action to senior leaders, and support the individual contributors on your team to do the same for their work
  • Mentor the talented individual contributors on your team to grow their own analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Collaborate closely with the data science team on further measurement and analytical capabilities (Media Mix modelling, Digital Attribution, Offline to Online, etc.) to enable a holistic view of digital marketing performance as well advanced our current segmentation by leveraging machine learning models
  • Synthesize complex data into a relevant, succinct and well-rounded business story to influence retention strategy/decisions
  • Work with our legal, privacy and information security team to make sure all data initiatives are compliant and approved
  • Be an advocate for the Marketing Intelligence team within the organization

Does this sound like you?

  • Strong leadership qualities combined with a passion for coaching, mentoring and building teams
  • 8-10 years of experience in a similar role (Marketing Intelligence, Analytics, Customer Insights, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively work with multiple levels of the organization
  • 3+ years of demonstrated project and cross-functional team management
  • Rich experience in marketing analytics with a strong understanding of the full range of online marketing channels, how they work, how they can be integrated, and how to evaluate them
  • Proven ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations, POV statements, strategic and operational recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Exceptional problem solving, and analysis skills combined with the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate findings to all levels throughout the organization
  • Knowledge of digital media concepts and direct consumer response techniques, such as segmentation, targeting, a/b and multivariate testing as well as strong web analytics + visualization tools experience (Adobe Analytics, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience with Advanced Analytics, statistical reporting, modeling and quantitative analysis (sampling, regression analysis, clustering) as well as strong SQL skills
  • Self-directed, proactive and able to define and execute projects independently
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and balancing multiple priorities/needs
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality work in a fast-paced environment
