Senior Manager, Digital Messaging At Loblaw Digital

Our ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of end-to-end email marketing strategies and a proven track record in building, executing, and delivering high impact, ROI-driven Digital Messaging programs that materially impact the bottom line.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive customer action and engagement with the Digital Messaging programs of various retail businesses. Channels include: Email Marketing, SMS Marketing, Push Notifications.
  • Responsible for the build, testing and deployment of Email Marketing campaigns, including automated customer lifecycle communications like new customer messaging and behavior based triggers like abandoned cart emails.
  • Partner with various internal groups to further develop acquisition and retention strategies, implement new campaigns and continuously optimize performance.
  • Implement sophisticated automated customer lifecycle journeys based on insights uncovered through analysis of campaign performance and customer data.
  • Implement new behavioural triggered emails and optimize performance of existing triggers including, abandoned cart and replenishment emails.
  • Analyze customer behaviour to identify opportunities for new segmentation, triggers and potential lifecycle changes
  • Continuously test, analyze and optimize the performance of Digital Messaging channels.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Intelligence and Data Science teams to create highly targeted audiences for various marketing initiatives.
  • Develop strategies to manage and grow customer databases, working in partnership with business leads.
  • Have a high level of reporting sophistication to show conversion, most effective campaigns, and areas of opportunity.
  • Be able to draw conclusions and give recommendations on appropriate strategy based on the data collected.
  • Excellent experience presenting to senior stakeholders, stakeholder management and team building.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in an analytical field required (Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Math, Physics, etc.).
  • 8+ years hands-on experience managing email marketing.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in marketing, advertising, market research or equivalent.
  • Understanding and experience using various Email Service Providers (Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be a plus), HTML, and web analytics (e.g., Omniture, Google Analytics).
  • Proven ability to generate meaningful insights from data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a highly demanding and ambiguous environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Hard-working self-starter able to navigate a fast-paced environment while still providing attention to detail and approaching tasks conscientiously.
  • Hands-on problem solver who takes initiative and focuses on ‘getting stuff done’.
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
