At Loblaw Digital, we know that our customers expect the best from us. Whether that means building the best, most innovative online shopping experience, or designing an app that will impact the lives of people across the country, we’re up for the challenge. From our office in Liberty Village in the heart of Toronto, we’ve created leading eCommerce experiences in the online grocery shopping, beauty, pharmacy, and apparel spaces, and we’re only just getting started.

Why is this role important?

Do you love the thought of helping Canadians’ easily finding their everyday essentials by building a great online shopping experience that complements their in-store experience? Yes? We want to hear from you! We are building Canada’s #1 retail experiences for Loblaws and Shoppers and want to transform the lives of Canadian’s for the better. We need big ideas, bigger enthusiasm and lot of diverse skills to come together and make this a reality and you will be a foundational part of that.

As the Product Manager, Experimentation, supporting our Online Grocery, Shoppers and Joe Fresh businesses, you will be responsible for optimizing new and existing experiences which deliver a convenient, intuitive and inviting shopping experience and drive digital engagement. You’ll experiment on and optimize all parts of the journey from consideration to purchase. You’ll be the guide to the product managers in these businesses, helping them build hypotheses to validate via analytics and OSAT (NPS) data. You will also guide them through developing and running experiments to validate hypotheses and finally capturing the insights for all to share.

What You'll Do:

  • Work with product managers, product designers, merchandizers, marketers and developers to create winning experiences by creating and running experiments to optimize the customer experience
  • Be the expert in our experimentation tools and work with the various teams above and more, to help them sort through analytics and customer data and arrive at hypotheses that can be validated
  • Own the experiments backlog including prioritization, grooming, keeping experiments running as fast as possible
  • Help product managers design and launch experiments for all stakeholders, with good velocity, ramping up through end of year
  • Interpret experimentation results to validate hypotheses and help product managers evolve the product through validated product decisions

Does This Sound Like You?

  • You can easily build relationships and have been part of large, cross functional teams that are working to solve complex problems and build products for millions of Canadians (both customers and colleagues)
  • You aren’t happy unless you’re testing and iterating after launch to understand the customer and improve their experience through experimentation with product and content
  • You advocate for data-driven product decision making, with a focus on validating hypotheses and challenging assumptions.
  • You build credibility through sharing expertise and experience, and offering experimentation guidance to your peers in cross functional teams
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • You’ve got a bias towards action and a growth mindset – you know there’s always a better way to do things and are willing to disrupt yourself or the status quo

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required (Engineering, CS, Math, Physics, etc.)
  • 1-2+ years of product management experience
  • Solid understanding of experimentation and ideally Adobe DX products (Analytics, Target, Audience Manager)
  • Familiar with Google Analytics & other experimentation products
  • Excellent communication skills across various technical and non-technical roles and tailored to peers and execs
  • A solid understanding of the software development process, a demonstrated track record of delivering and enabling meaningful experiments, and passion for helping teams
  • Solid stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and sift through ambiguity
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skill

How You’ll Succeed:

  • At Loblaw Digital, we seek great people to continually strengthen our culture. We believe great people model our values, are authentic, build trust and make connections.
  • We’re able to keep innovating because our colleagues are passionate about their work and excited about the future of eCommerce.
  • If you have big ideas, undeniable enthusiasm, and thrive in a collaborative, creative, and diverse group, we’ll get along just fine.
