Director, Product Management - Foundation At Loblaw Digital

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Job Description

We are building Canada’s #1 online grocery service, allowing customers to shop in more ways (think web, apps, voice…) and receive their groceries when, where and how they want (think condos, Go stations, Shoppers locations, delivery…). This journey will be transformational not just for us, but all Canadians. We need big ideas, bigger enthusiasm and lot of diverse skills to come together and make this a reality and you will be a foundational part of that.

As the Director, Product Management for the Foundation team supporting our online grocery business, you will be responsible for creating the leading online grocery platform that is resilient, scalable and secure for our millions of customers. Your primary focus will be on continuously shipping foundational components that enable all teams (including growth, experience and fulfillment) to deliver on their mandates. You will use data every day to uncover meaningful insights that inform your experimentation strategy and ultimately, your product roadmap. This role is by far our most technical and we are looking for someone who can thrive and hold their own while working hand in hand with our engineering team.

In this role, you will build and lead a team of product managers who are focused on foundational components that include Search, API, Payments, amongst others.

Does this sound like you?

  • You have at least 7+ years of hands-on experience leading the end-to-end creation and development of products and experiences that deliver efficiency and process improvement at a start-up or fast-growing technology company
  • This role is very technical. In order to be successful, you’ll need to have an engineering background or have worked in that capacity in the past
  • You can easily build relationships and have been part of large, cross functional teams that are working to solve complex problems and build products for millions of Canadians (both customers and colleagues)
  • You have a customer first approach to building products, leveraging research and data paired with empathy to build experiences that create customer stickiness
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • You are obsessed with testing and experimentation is a core pillar of how you approach product development – aka you aren’t happy unless you’ve learned something after shipping
  • You’ve got a growth mindset – you know there’s always a better way to do things and are willing to disrupt yourself or the status quo

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience building something from the ground up
  • Experience working closely coupled with TPM, Engineering, Data Science & Analytics teams
  • Experience working in retail or e-commerce, specifically in a technology/operations role
  • A bachelors degree in a quantitative field (Engineering, CS, Math, Physics, etc)
  • Solid understanding of lean startup
  • Solid understanding of agile (scrum/kanban)

If you’re interested in building the future of e-commerce, submit your application today. We're looking forward to learning more about you!

How You’ll Succeed:

At Loblaw Digital, we seek great people to continually strengthen our culture. We believe great people model our values, are authentic, build trust and make connections.

We’re able to keep innovating because our colleagues are passionate about their work and excited about the future of eCommerce.

If you have big ideas, undeniable enthusiasm, and thrive in a collaborative, creative, and diverse group, we’ll get along just fine.

Looking for a challenge? Good. Love an innovative work environment? Even better.

Apply today.

Employment Type:

Full time

Type of Role:

Loblaw Digital recognizes Canada's diversity as a source of national pride and strength. We have made it a priority to reflect our nation’s evolving diversity in the products we sell, the people we hire, and the culture we create in our organization. Accommodation is available upon request for applicants with disabilities in the recruitment and assessment process and when hired.

In addition, we believe that compliance with laws is about doing the right thing. Upholding the law is part of our Code of Conduct – it reinforces what our customers and stakeholders expect of us.
