Why is this role important?
The ideal candidate for this position will provide leadership in building the effective operation of the LBL RA Team. This includes promoting a continued process improvement environment focusing on improving the use of business tools, relationships and work activities with other LCL individuals and increasing capability of the vendor community.
Promote and ensure consistency across all LBL RA team members in regulatory interpretation and brand/business standards application in accordance with policies and procedures.
Develop performance metrics for LBL RA team and monitor and report on effectiveness.
Responsible for developing policies and procedures on regulatory compliance and brand/business standards. Implement as appropriate with LBL RA team.
Work to create and implement a Regulatory compliance incident management system that effectively and efficiently resolves regulatory and labeling issues raised by Government for control brand products.
Work with RA team members to actively develop local Government Inspector relationships.
Educate LBL management on regulations and strategic initiatives
Regulatory Lead on product development team(s), providing regulatory input and advice and ensuring regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
Define regulatory submission strategies throughout product development; manage submission timelines, interpret applicable regulations and guidelines for product team use; keep product team informed of regulatory decisions, issues, potential problems, and new regulations
Work closely with Quality Assurance and Product Development teams to ensure regulatory compliance in the requirements and preparations of submissions to regulatory authorities
Coordinate submissions and amendments consistent with company strategies, regulatory requirements and timelines
Communicate with regulatory authorities to refine regulatory roadmap, updates, collaboration and input
Evaluate new regulatory intelligence, including new and revised regulations and guidance documents, assess potential impact on the organization and communicate to Senior Management
Generate and establish policies and SOPS to support the regulatory function in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
Minimum 7+ years of related experience, including proven leadership experience
Regulatory and food processing experience and knowledge
Experience working with PLM, QMS and certificate management systems
Experience developing scorecards, KPIs and other business reports.
Naturally proactive with a high degree of self-discipline, drive and organizational skills in order to manage numerous overlapping projects and deadlines
High degree of effective communication and influencing skills and formal presentation skills
Highly collaborative and inquisitive
Ability to make decisions, exhibit strong judgment and an ability to resolve complex issues
Leadership and managerial skills are required
