The Director of Sales will:

The Director plays a critical role in driving new revenue growth in the media space for Loblaw Companies Limited. They will provide the knowledge, leadership and passion required to champion and build our world class media services for the biggest advertisers in Canada. More than just a talented professional, the Director is inquisitive, creative and has a deep understanding and network within the world of digital media and be well-versed in the nuances of the programmatic buying ecosystem. They will have proven ability to build strong and trusted relationships with brands and agencies. The Director will work collaboratively across a wide range of internal stakeholders and partners to build a unique media offering for Canadian advertisers.


The ideal candidate will model the Loblaw Company values, be authentic, actively build trust and make connections across the organization. The Director will lead by example, inspire others, ask insightful questions to help problem solve and build confidence among those with whom they work. They will also be able to see possibilities and opportunities in most situations. They are open-minded and flexible which enables them to be more agile and responsive to change.


Role responsibilities include:

  • Designing the overall business sales strategy required to meet sales targets and drive growth
  • Managing a disciplined sales process, including end-to-end holistic sales funnel management
  • Leveraging personal and corporate relationships to build a roster of key clients
  • Overseeing a small group of sales leaders for an ever-evolving set of products
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with client decision-makers at each key account
  • Collaborating with product management teams to evolve existing products based on client’s needs

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience driving effective sales strategies
  • History of developing a client base and sales pipeline
  • Extensive sales leadership experience building, leading and inspiring cross functional teams
  • A history of success in hitting individual as well as team sales goals
  • Experience selling data driven products and solutions is an asset
  • Agency or Media Sales experience is an asset
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma or equivalent work experience
