The Lethbridge College’s School of Justice Studies is seeking applications for two full-time continuing instructors commencing for the Fall 2019 term. One position will be a shared position between the Criminal Justice-Policing and the Justice Degree programs. The second position will will be a shared position between the Correctional Studies and the Justice Degree programs.
We are seeking instructors who are passionate about teaching and dedicated to supporting students in their educational journey. As a member of the school instructional team, faculty participate in a collaborative teaching environment, and may instruct online courses. Faculty are responsible for curriculum development, all assessments, supporting student recruitment, student retention, participation in program and college level committees, as well as encouraged to be involved in applied research.
A Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline (criminology, criminal justice, sociology, social work, psychology, etc.) is required for one of the positions and a Master degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a relevant discipline is required for the second position. A minimum of 5 years experience in one of the following fields is required: public safety, policing, addictions and mental health, crime analysis, criminal or national intelligence, or corrections (institutional or community).
Previous instructional experience in a post-secondary or professional setting is required, as well as competency with technology in the classroom.
Excellent organizational and communication skills are essential.Preferred Qualifications
Experience which reflects varied and increasing levels of responsibility is beneficial.
