Kingston Trolley Tours guides, for work on board the Trolleys as a host, driver and tour guide.
As a Trolley Guide you will work on board the Trolley as a host, driver and tour guide. You will be responsible for the safety and well being of the riders on the trolley tours. The Guide is a fully qualified driver of the Trolley vehicle and are also an ambassador for our historic city and a host for curious visitors from all over the world. Trolley Guides are well-versed in Canadian history, general vehicle maintenance knowledge, and will develop their abilities for story-telling/public speaking.
Your job will be to entertain guests with history and beautiful sights in the summer sunshine, or with stories of ghosts and mysteries when daylight runs out. Kingston Trolley Tours operates daily City Tours, chartered and customized tours, as well as a Ghost & Mystery themed tour.
The best applicants will have: an appreciation and general knowledge of the extensive history of Kingston; a working knowledge and enjoyment of Kingston’s sites, attractions and museums; a curious mind and a knack for storytelling; a desire to learn and expand on your knowledge; and an outgoing and friendly demeanour with strong communication skills and a passion for interacting with guests.
A commitment to safe operation of a large vehicle is necessary.
A “G” class license and drivers abstract will be required prior to hiring. Ideal candidates will possess a ‘C’ class license. However, if you have a passion for story-telling and would be interested in obtaining your ‘C’ license, we encourage you to apply. All candidates, including those that already have a ‘C’ license, must pass a road test with a qualified driving instructor.
Experience in a customer service role is an asset. Proficiency in other languages is also an asset.
