The Kingsport Osteopathic Clinic is looking to fill a full time position for an osteopathic manual practitioner as soon as possible. The Clinic is located in a beautiful area of rural Nova Scotia overlooking the Minas Basin at the end of the Bay of Fundy which boasts the highest tides in the world.
The successful applicant should be knowledgeable and energetic with a desire to develop their osteopathic assessment and palpation skills. English is a requirement, and the applicant will need to be a member in good standing with the OAO and the NSAO. Duties include osteopathic intake, assessment and treatment planning for future care, liaising with other health care practitioners as needed and report writing. Good note taking is essential.
The clinic provides: all patient referrals, marketing and promotional materials, equipment (sheets, pillows, table, etc.), laundry and cleaning facilities, as well as full secretarial services. Kitchen and lounge/porch areas overlooking the ocean are made available to staff during work hours 8 -5 Mon-Fri. Wages will be $45.00 - $75.00/per treatment, commensurate with experience.
Sarah Hayes, D.O.M.P., former teacher with the CEO in Montreal, serves as the clinic director, mentor and senior practitioner. Since its inception in 1996 the Kingsport Clinic has been a training ground for many international osteopaths from Canada, Switzerland, Germany, France, and Finland. Our regular collegial discussion groups and practice sessions provide a creative environment to support progressive osteopathic practice and thought. If guidance or supervision is required, it is available upon request by the patient or practicing osteopath at any time during clinic hours. Patients may also consult with our naturopathic doctor and registered massage therapist.
