The primary focus of the Sales and Business Development Associate will be to grow sales to existing accounts and develop new accounts in the British Columbia territory. The position reports to the Vancouver branch manager and the national sales manager. The incumbent will work closely with the branch manager and the Vancouver sales staff to improve understanding of market conditions, ensure individual customer accounts are set up properly and to develop and execute marketing/sales programs in support of account development.
The incumbent will use basic sales analysis tools to identify early, any negative changes in customer buying trends, and then meet with the customer to determine root cause and to execute action plans to address the customer's issues. The incumbent should be comfortable with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
The person in this role is expected to spend approximately 50% of his/her time on the road (local), 30% on the road (overnight, mostly in British Columbia and Alberta) and 20% in the office; although office time may increase to 100% during certain periods to cover vacations.
Well-developed consultative selling skills are important, and it would be helpful, but not essential, for the incumbent to have an automotive background.
The incumbent is expected to be fluent in English.
Compensation will include a base salary, bonus (monthly) based on sales relative to budget, car allowance and benefits package (after 3 months).
