Who We Are

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting crude oil and refined products to the West Coast. We deliver nearly 300,000 barrels of crude oil and refined products each day through 1,274 kilometers of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington State.

The Trans Mountain Expansion Project will provide increased capacity to support Canadian crude oil production growth and ensure access to global energy markets. The largest project in our history, it involves the installation of approximately 980 km of new pipeline, new and modified facilities including pump stations and terminals, and a new dock complex at the Westridge Marine Terminal in British Columbia.

As a federal Crown corporation, the newly formed Trans Mountain Corporation will continue to build upon our 65 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.


We are accountable to Parliament through the Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDEV). As a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDEV, we are governed by an independent Board of Directors.

Reporting to the Director, HR, the Project HR Administrator will be responsible for supporting the HR leaders and larger project team in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, pre-employment checks, creation of offers, and tracking and reporting on recruitment activities. This individual will also support other work such as conducting research, compiling and analyzing information, providing and implementing a recommendation. The contract offers full-time hours and the duration is expected to be 3 to 4 years in length.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) for all activities related to recruitment.
  • Assist in the development or revision of job descriptions for posting in our ATS (People fluent).
  • Short-listing for various project positions in a variety of disciplines.
  • Interview scheduling and pre-screen calling. Correspond with candidates throughout all stages of the interview and selection process.
  • Research and posting to various job posting boards.
  • Preparing interview packages for hiring leaders.
  • Participation in interviews, where required.
  • Coordinating offers for contract employment.
  • Creation and/or maintenance of various reports of HR metrics.
  • Work with vendors on pre-employment screening and testing.
  • Respond to requests for information or assistance from the internal team.
  • Coordination of on-boarding activities for new team members. Ability to interact effectively with administrators for each functional area.
  • Administration of various HR programs, as assigned.


Position Requirements



  • Degree, certification, diploma, license in Human Resources, Business or related field is preferred.
  • Working towards the CPHR designation preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment support and or other HR administrative support functions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to coordinate voluminous tasks.
  • Resourceful and able to learn quickly.
  • Agile with changes in work flow and volume of requests.
  • Ability to prioritize and seek direction when needed. Must be capable and able to work with minimum supervision at times.
  • Strong analytical skills for report creation.
  • Strong communication and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. When required, able to enhance pieces of communication and reports.
  • Comfortable and confident with communicating a recruitment process or procedure to hiring leaders.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Reliable.
  • Exhibits a professional, courteous manner at all times and respects the nature of confidential information.
  • Exceptional skills with the Microsoft suite of products.
  • Experience in a large project environment is an asset.
