Who We Are

Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting crude oil and refined products to the West Coast. We deliver nearly 300,000 barrels of crude oil and refined products each day through 1,274 kilometers of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington State.

The Trans Mountain Expansion Project will provide increased capacity to support Canadian crude oil production growth and ensure access to global energy markets. The largest project in our history, it involves the installation of approximately 980 km of new pipeline, new and modified facilities including pump stations and terminals, and a new dock complex at the Westridge Marine Terminal in British Columbia.

As a federal Crown corporation, the newly formed Trans Mountain Corporation will continue to build upon our 65 years of experience delivering operational and safety excellence through our crude oil pipeline system.

We are accountable to Parliament through the Canada Development Investment Corporation (CDEV). As a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDEV, we are governed by an independent Board of Directors.

The Invoice/Requisition coordinator will be responsible for supporting Project Managers and the Budget Analyst with all cost and forecast aspects of operating projects. The successful candidate will act as the primary contact for invoice processing and requisition entries for the Technical Services department. The role will also be responsible for supporting the Budget Analyst with budgeting and forecasting functions, and interacting with various levels of the organization, as well as external vendors, to ensure invoice billing is in accordance with project requirements and corporate standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project Manager Support

  • Invoices:

  • Invoice processing and follow through to vendor payment in a timely and efficient manner
  • Account Coding in the internal electronic system
  • Check billing information such as rates, hours and expenses as well as bill to addresses and self-assess PST where applicable
  • Data entry into our internal invoice tracking system
  • Ensure PO information is accurate and within commitments
  • Tracks and carries invoices through approval in accordance with the Financial Authority Structure
  • Research and resolve account payable issues with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate with vendors when required

2. Requisition and bid waiver entry:

  • Support project managers with raising requisitions and see through to PO issuance
  • Submit change orders to PO’s when required.
  • Generate bid waivers when necessary and see through to approval

Budget Analyst Support

  • Provide support with accruals, month end, quarter end and year end deadlines.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting functions
  • Provide monthly project forecast updates in collaboration with PM’s
  • Support with data entry into corporate financial software

Position Requirements


  • Diploma in Finance or Business
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset
  • Experience with Cognos TM1 an asset
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Cost control experience an asset
  • Ability to learn in-house software systems
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
