Summary of Position:

Kimberly-Clark Inc. Huntsville Mill is currently seeking an experienced Production Manager. Provide leadership, coordination and technical direction in order to effectively manage business objectives for the assigned assets. Key customers include: Mill Manager, Fellow Team Leaders, Crew Leaders and Converting High Performance Work Teams and operators.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Actively demonstrate Safety as a value through active leadership, positive influence of mindsets and by identifying and addressing risks to prevent loss to our people, processes and materials, while ensuring compliance with OHSA for Ontario regulations, corporate policies, and plant guidelines.
  • Implement loss control throughout the organization by visibly demonstrating that safety is embraced as a value. Develop and maintain safety systems in accordance with K-C loss control management and lead their groups to complete safety objectives and ensure a safe and productive work environment. Create and support the environment that removed barriers to success.
  • An integral member of the leadership team responsible for collaborating on development, communication and execution the Mills long term and short terms strategies as it relates to safety, people and productivity.
  • Provide Leadership to all Converting Department Operating Crews. Develop & maintain High Performance Work Team (HPWT). This includes training & coaching of Crew Leaders to develop leadership & organization skills. Each team is expected to be directly involved in & self-sufficient in handling routine operating activities, training & systems.
  • Identify and communicate to HPWT items & areas on each of the Converting Department Lines that require support, to contribute to progress toward achievement of established objectives.
  • Work with HPWT to establish objectives for each Converting Department Line that are realistic and achievable but challenging, and support mill & corporate short-term goals & long-term vision.
  • Coordinate communications which lead to positive results.
  • Coordinate labour resource changes to support revisions in production schedules to ensure that customer service objectives are maintained.
  • Ensure HPWT Technical Resources provide information to support daily, weekly & periodic communications to crews, such as MTPD data, waste & delay analysis from Production Information Management System (PIMS).
  • The incumbent is committed to Huntsville Teams' Internal Control Plan by actively supporting achievement of I/C Objectives by observing and adhering to all applicable procedures.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the LEAN Manufacturing Process as a means of achieving company objectives. Contributes to an environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results. The Team Leader is committed to knowing their customers and meeting their requirements in a timely manner.
  • Consistently follow Leadership Roles & Responsibilities Instruction and ensure all team members adhere to the Loss Prevention & Control Leadership Matrix.
  • Fully comply with corporate loss management policies as well as government safety & health regulations.
  • Manage self in accordance with the One K-C Behaviors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and at least 5 – 7 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments. Candidates with a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant discipline and possessing applicable experience may also be considered.
  • Strong experience using manufacturing analysis tools, such as: PI/Process Book, Plant Applications, SPC (statistical process control design of experiments; process capability studies; Six Sigma Others)
  • A recognized leader in manufacturing and converting process and equipment including technology understanding and development with a demonstrated ability to translate that knowledge into execution of process and capacity improvements in major capital projects.
  • A demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams (High Performance Work Teams) to achieve results to objectives within required timeframes.
