The new Global Procurement Organization is driving a transformation agenda, moving toward a more strategic and Global approach, enabling simplification and standardization of procurement category processes, while demonstrating a collaborative mindset.


This role has category management responsibilities for Kimberly-Clark’s purchases in Marketing Agency and related subcategories, in which global spend is approx. $200 - 250MM. The position will report directly to the Global Director, Marketing Procurement.


The Global Procurement Lead-Marketing Agencies will:

o Develop and oversee the global category strategy and key supplier relationships for all Marketing Agency spend at K-C.

o Build category expertise and provide guidance to regional teams in the context of stakeholder needs, statement of work benchmarking and analysis, and effective agency performance and relationship management.

o Ensure that K-C is maximizing value for money with agency fees while delivering a talent first/outcome-based approach to agency negotiations and relationship management.

o Lead Supplier relationship management, building and facilitating partnerships with strategic suppliers and key executives within K-C.

o Establish strong connections with stakeholders, providing leadership and market expertise and engaging them in procurement processes and decisions.

Scope:

Lead the strategic sourcing and category management of Marketing Categories including creative, design, digital, PR, media and production agencies. Value of purchases are typically in the $200-250MM range and support both regional and global purchases across multiple business units.

  • You are currently or have worked for a Marketing Agency (creative, design, digital, PR, media, or production) or extensive Marketing Agency Procurement experience and would be excited to leverage your expertise to deliver value on a global scale?
  • You would find excitement in working with Regional Buyers, guiding, teaching, and leading them through the deployment of global business and negotiation strategies.
  • You are able to diagnose and resolve complex issues and have the patience to work and perform in a complex and matrixed operating environment.
  • You have the demonstrated ability to understand strategic business needs, communication and relationship building skills at different organization levels, willingness to be a team player, are available to travel internationally and have experience working with different cultures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops a thorough strategic plan to drive value for the category based on an understanding of business unit needs, category spend, the supply market, bench-marking and changing market dynamics.
  • Balances strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to execute value creation projects which include cost reduction, cash improvement, and improvement in service quality and supplier capabilities.
  • Provides innovative sourcing solutions to the customer by bringing continuous improvement and market driven innovation to their attention, offering credible alternatives where applicable.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to develop robust category sourcing and supplier relationship management strategies.
  • Leads bidding process, negotiating pricing/terms and conditions, and final contract award and implementation.
  • Analyzes market and supply dynamics related to supplier proposals to develop a matrix of negotiation scenarios.
  • Leads the development of risk analyses, assessments and mitigation plans for their category.
  • Proactively interacts with business units to develop, engage and lead supplier relationships for extracting the greatest value in cost, security of supply, risk management, sustainability and innovation.
  • Uses specific market analysis to predict behavior and supply risks to the organization. May provide market analysis to customers and advice to others within procurement.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge-base of the category.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of business experience including experience working within a Marketing Agency or in the Procurement of Marketing Agencies or related spend categories.
  • Experience in a cross-functional and/or business unit role in which category knowledge was gained and applied.
  • Experiencing in leading complex negotiations in the Marketing Agency category.
  • Project management/continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience as a thought leader demonstrating ability to influence others.
  • Category knowledge gained through experience in cross functional roles.
  • Experience establishing resource networks and building relationships.
