Coordinator, Community Development & Administration (Part Time) At Kids Help Phone

COORDINATOR, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT & ADMINISTRATION (Part Time)

Location: Downtown Toronto, University Ave and Dundas St. West

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time

ABOUT KIDS HELP PHONE

Since 1989, Kids Help Phone has been Canada’s only national 24/7 bilingual (English and French) phone counselling, web counselling and referral service for children and youth, focused on mental health. We are pioneers in the field of virtual care. We exist to serve the 8.2 Million young people across Canada. OPPORTUNITY

The Coordinator, Community Development & Administration plays an important role in supporting community and program development for Kids Help Phone across Canada. This position report to the Senior Manager, Knowledge Mobilization.
  • Public-facing duties include communication with various external stakeholders for information, implementation and coordination of community development programs, like Counsellor in the Classroom.
  • Administrative duties include preparing program materials, generating letters, preparing, and mailing packages, entering information in various databases and excel and providing updates on program status to program team.
  • Support research and program evaluation activities, as related to Counsellor in the Classroom
  • Support Knowledge Mobilization activities by conducting research related to children’s mental health and well-being and summarizing relevant information.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be shown for candidates with:
  • 2 years of relevant work or volunteer experience with a non-profit or children’s mental health organization.
  • Relevant post-secondary diploma or degree such as Social Sciences, Psychology, Business Administration, Communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Raisers Edge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Academic research skills, including the ability to search academic databases, evaluate research quality and create summaries of relevant information.
  • General knowledge of child and youth mental health.
  • Tact, diplomacy, and interpersonal skills to liaise with education professionals, donors, volunteers and co-workers
