Customer Service Representative, Claims Call Centre At Intact

Location: Calgary, Alberta

As a Customer Service Representative in our Claims Operations department, you will provide legendary customer service to both our external and internal clients in a call centre environment. People will count on you to provide information and quickly resolve their inquiries in a professional and empathetic manner. We are looking for highly motivated and organized individuals with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team!

Please Note: This role has a March 2020 start date.

Here are a few ways you will make a difference:

  • Provide legendary customer service by responding to a high volume of inbound calls in our Claims Contact Centre
  • Ensure that call metrics are met daily, inquiries are resolved and strive for minimal hold times
  • Keep clear and concise notes in the system to ensure that your work is transferable to your colleagues
  • Complete and document inquiries received from claimants and provide information based on Intact’s standards and procedures
  • Consult, interpret, check and update various documents and data for various business lines, confirming accuracy and identifying any errors
  • Document and direct inquiries and assignments to the appropriate individual or department
  • Perform routine administrative functions such as file processing as required



Your Skills


  • Minimum of 1 year in a customer service role
  • Post-secondary education (asset)
  • Client driven with excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills, results-driven and able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Strong resourcefulness and able to work autonomously with sound judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Capable of learning new software and navigating through multiple systems
  • Excellent listening skills with the ability to foster strong working relationships
  • Committed to self-development

Successful candidates must be flexible to work 35 hours a week during our business hours of operation: Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Statutory holidays. You must be flexible to work any of these days and times. New Hires will be provided with a robust onboarding program, adequate training and ongoing team support.
