What This Position Is All About:
The Assistant, Merchandising is responsible for liaising with the Buyers and Planners in the banner organizations. He/she will assist the Merchandising Manger in the Active and Kids businesses for Hudson’s Bay, Lord & Taylor and Galeria Kaufhof. The Assistant will work closely with Design, Sourcing, and Tech Design teams to develop the best product and value for our brands. He/she will also work with the Merchant and Design teams on product developed directly with domestic private label vendors, acting as a point of contact for these vendors.

You Also Have:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years of experience in merchandising field
  • Buying or Planning experience preferable
  • Product Development and Design experience- must know product and fabric
  • Excellent excel and power point skills
  • Strong knowledge of and ability to apply retail math concepts
As The Assistant, Merchandising, You Will:
  • Assist the Merchandising Manager in the day to day business needs for Active and Kids Owned Brands
  • Communicate regularly with cross functional partners – Buying, Global Sourcing, Tech Design, Design, and DPL vendor community to ensure the business operates smoothly
  • Pull weekly selling reports
  • Create DPL line sheets and assist in preparation for line review meetings
  • Track DPL samples
  • Put together doll board recaps with projections for sourcing and create a post buy doll board/line sheet with what is bought for each delivery
  • Create order templates and make all necessary updates to buys (i.e. costs, style changes)
  • Make AD sample trackers and ensure vendors send samples according to buyers deadlines
