2019 HBC Corporate Internship Program - Marketing (NYC) At Hudson's Bay Company (HBC)

What This Position Is All About:


The Summer Internship Program is designed to provide current second and third year university students with direct work experience in a specific field and department and learn about HBC and our culture. During the internship program, participants will be paired with a supervisor who will provide them with on-the-job work experience and projects. This program also incorporates an additional learning component that brings participants together throughout the summer to receive classroom training that focuses on providing professional development, exposure to different functional areas and an opportunity to interact with senior executives. In addition to working and training in a specific area, participants will work on a team project designed to address a current company initiative. Our internship program culminates with the team’s project presentation to a panel of senior executives.

You also have:

  • Must be in your second or third year of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited university
  • Must be available to start Summer 2019
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint a must

As the Summer Intern, you will:

  • Potential to be placed within Customer Insights, Customer Analytics & Campaigns, or Contact Centers
  • Customer Insights
    • The Voice of Customer Research & Insights team sits within the Marketing Shared Services team and leads research and insights including ad hoc primary proprietary customer research (quantitative & qualitative), Customer Experience (CX) Feedback Measurement, and syndicated business intelligence reporting across all North American banners. Insights Team champions customer focus throughout the HBC organization and ensures that strategic shifts are grounded in the customer. Project work will continually reinforce and refresh a clear picture of the customer's changing needs, expectations and behaviors across HBC North American business units.
    • As an intern, you will gain exposure to the development of company-wide Voice of Customer engagement/training materials; analytics as we build learnings across feedback response patterns/Net Promoter Score root cause analysis; End-to-end Customer Journey Research that will inform new customer segmentation and identify "metrics that matter" at critical touch points to focus/prioritize experience enhancements; Ad hoc research answering in-season business questions leveraging in-house customer communities; Planning for relaunch of Brand Health Tracker across Business Units.
  • Contact Centers
    • We have an amazing opportunity to offer a great internship within the Contact Center team. 2019 is going to be year focused around the customer and enhancing customer service experiences that drive preference and loyalty for our business units. The summer intern would focus their time assisting the team around the following four areas...
    • Creating #HBCHeros and Customer Champions through contact center quality improvements:
    • Enhancing our communications strategy for how our agents respond to customers via Social Media and E-mail
    • Leveraging research findings to highlight insights and action plans
    • Assisting team on top projects (project management)
  • Customer Analytics & Insights
    • Working on the Marketing Attribution and Web Analytics Team, you will have exposure to web analytics tools and advanced attribution methodologies used by HBC to measure marketing effectiveness. You will understand how different media channels are executed, tracked and impact customer journey and influence their decision to purchase.
    • Summer Intern with advanced excel skills, familiarity with marketing media channels (traditional and digital), a basic understanding of marketing budgets and ROI analyses will be successful in this role and can further hone their analytics skills and business acumen.
