We are seeking a Recreation Programmer to join our Recreation team to assist with planning, developing, coordinating, leading and evaluating health, wellness, fitness, and recreation programs for various ages and special interest groups in the community.
Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the position requires a sound knowledge of the social, cultural, and recreational needs and interests of the public in a health and fitness setting. The incumbent is responsible for promoting participation in program activities, leadership and instruction for various recreation and arts programs, and maintaining effective liaison with the general public, community groups and agencies. This position will require strong administrative and interpersonal skills and the ability to recruit, train, supervise, oversee and provide leadership to staff, contract instructors and volunteers.
The successful candidate will post-secondary education in recreation or a related field at a recognized institution, as well as related health, wellness, and fitness experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Candidates must be willing to work various shifts, Monday through Sunday, 5:45 am – 10:15 pm (40 hour week).
Wage: Pay Grade 18 - $28.43 per hour
