POSITION: Management Analyst – Various Departments (This position starts in the Community Services & Recreation Department)
SALARY: $5,140.22 – $6,247.97 per month. Appointment is typically made at the beginning step. (PERS retirement - 2% at 62 retirement formula for new CalPERS members, 2.5% at 55 retirement formula for CalPERS members covered under pre-2013 rules).

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree Required. Master’s Degree in Public Administration or related field and some local government experience desirable. Full-time administrative experience preferred.
Knowledge and Ability: Requires knowledge of municipal government organization and functions; proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to analyze and interpret budgetary and financial data. A positive and easygoing demeanor is also preferred. Outstanding writing and proof reading skills are necessary. Ability to prepare written reports, analyze and make recommendations on organizational operations, plan and perform research, have a proficiency with numbers, and work effectively with employees and the public. Must be resourceful and able to work efficiently under minimum direction while paying attention to detail. Bilingual desirable.
License Required: Valid Class C California Driver License and acceptable driving record.
GENERAL DUTIES: Under the general direction of the Recreation Director, will prepare written and analytical reports including grant, financial, and agenda reports. Will assist with the preparation of the department’s budget; review expenditure and revenue reports; prepare budgetary and statistical analysis. Will assist with analysis of various Recreation programs and functions. Other responsibilities will include intergovernmental relations and administration of grant programs as well as assisting with the implementation of Recreation capital improvements. Duties will also include preparing and making presentations; gathering, compiling, analyzing, and evaluating data; analyzing operations, designing marketing and various publications; and other duties as assigned, including rotating to different departments within the City organization as part of the Management Analyst Rotational Program.
