Responsible for reviewing all procurement situations to determine the scope of requirements for
indemnification, insurance, performance securities and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
Clearance Certificates in all bid solicitation and contract documents issued on behalf of the Region of
Ottawa-Carleton, the City of Ottawa and Ottawa-Carleton Regional Police Services, inserting appropriate
legal clauses, verifying certificates and maintaining associated records.
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12 plus first credit course (Principles & Practices) offered by the Insurance Institute of
Five (5) years clerical, including two (2) years working with commercial insurance
Language, Certificates & Licenses
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check to the City of Ottawa’s
English oral, reading, writing required required

Purchasing terminology, document types and handling
Word, WordPerfect, Excel use of the Internet
Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers
Competencies & Skills
Operate a computer efficiently and accurately
Keyboard 60 wpm
Communicate effectively (oral and written) with all contacts
Establish priorities and work under minimum supervision
Exercise discretion and a high degree of confidentiality
