The Engineering, Parks & Environment Department (Parks Planning and Design) requires an auxiliary Technical Assistant 1 for approximately 4 months commencing May 2019.
As a Technical Assistant, you will assist the design group with data collection and analysis for parks projects using various computer modeling and design software packages. Your main duties will include: collecting and analyzing data, reading and interpreting drawings, preparing materials for public meetings from the data to inform and support projects. You will also perform graphic design and public engagement support as it relates to parks projects.
You will have completed a minimum of one year of a university degree and currently enrolled in a University program in one of the following or similar; Planning, Urban Studies, Landscape Architecture. Sound knowledge and experience in the analytical and research techniques and methodology is required. In addition, you will have strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience with graphic design. Knowledge of Adobe graphic design computer packages, AutoCAD would be beneficial, and experience with MS Office (MS Excel in particular) is required. You will also have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
$27.45 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits
(Pay Grade 17 – January 2019 rates)
Hours of Work:
8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 4 days per week - Monday to Thursday
