You will have completed a related technical diploma or a Bachelor of Science degree with courses in biology, ecology or related subjects, together with sound related experience in the environmental management field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge of federal and provincial regulations, City policies, bylaws and other environmental issues relating to the work to be performed is required, along with a thorough knowledge of analysis and research techniques in environmental science. Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts, together with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including formulating recommendations, making effective presentations, and preparing correspondence, technical narrative and statistical reports, tabulations and records. A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required, as well as a valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ license.
For temporary full-time positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position.
