The Senior Staff Accountant position is responsible for serving as a team member in the Department of Finance and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the City of Mount Rainier.
The position requires through knowledge of principles and practices of accounting, and thorough knowledge of accounting terminology, methods, and City, state, and deferral payroll and related regulations. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standards, and audit practices is required.
The Senior Staff Accountant must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department supervisors, employees, vendors and the general public. Additionally, the Senior Staff Accountant must have the ability to prepare, analyze, and evaluate complex financial reports while communicating ideas effectively both orally and in writing.
