Reporting to the Supervisor, Customer & Administrative Services, the Cashier provides professional and courteous customer service to the general public and various user groups of the City’s recreational facilities.
This position works in a fast paced environment and is responsible for facility bookings, program registration and memberships.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide customer service in a fast paced environment.
Responsible for facility bookings, program registration, memberships, cash handling, bank deposits, dressing room coordination, and general clerical duties (including filing).
Coordinate outdoor community signage requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High School (Grade 12) diploma or equivalent.
One (1) month experience as a cashier in a customer driven environment.
Must have strong working knowledge of general computer operations including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Preference will be given to those candidates with direct experience with PerfectMind software or equivalent.
Knowledge and experience in a multisport recreational facility, local sporting organizations and municipal facilities an asset.
Comfortable working in a fast paced environment.
Ability to deal courteously and effectively with all levels of staff, program participants, members and the general public.
Demonstrated accuracy with cash and credit transactions.
Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented.
Must possess tact, initiative, strong public relations skills and be able to work in a team environment.
Must be able to work daytime, evenings and weekends (flexible hours).
Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check, including Vulnerable Sector, at candidates’ expense.
