Job Title: Part-Time Special Constable, Courts
Location: John Sopinka Court House (45 Main St E, Hamilton, ON), may be required to respond to other locations, as necessary
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, working eight (8) hour shifts, starting anywhere between 7:00 am and 11:00 am
Salary: Starting at $ 31.61 per hour, PLUS 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% vacation pay
Status: Part-time Regular and Temporary as required

The Hamilton Police Service (HPS) is currently looking to fill Part-time Special Constable positions in the John Sopinka Court House, or one of our other Court Facilities.
Under the direction of the Special Constable Supervisor, Court Security, the Special Constable is responsible for the care, control, and transportation of prisoners, and the overall security of the assigned court facilities.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The Part-Time Special Constable ensures the security and control of prisoners, the court rooms, cells, and adjoining areas. Some duties may involve physical and mental challenges, while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor, and include having physical contact with members of the public and the prisoner population (e.g. wanding, monitoring of cells, prisoner movement).
