Performs a wide variety of introductory level professional accounting work in the preparation and maintenance of budget and accounting records for the Housing division of the Community Services Department. Performs treasury function for City.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. Proficiency using electronic spreadsheets is required.
HUD/Housing accounting is preferred

Federal, county, state, and local laws, codes and regulations applicable to governmental accounting
Maintain strict confidentiality on restricted information, files, and records
Present technical financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-technical policy makers and to the public
Acquire a working knowledge of public housing laws and related intergovernmental regulations
Work with government agencies, staff members, and the public in a positive manner
Learn, communicate, execute, and train regarding essential software programs
Accurately prepare a variety of work papers and financial reports
Provide technical guidance to and train account clerks or other clerical staff
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with city staff and other governmental agencies Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying.
