The City of Coquitlam’s Economic Development Division is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and business results oriented candidate for the position of Business Development Coordinator. This position is responsible for researching, developing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring programs, activities, event and material in support of local economic development initiatives. You would be working with representatives of the business sector, external agencies, other levels of government and post-secondary institutions. Responsibilities include coordinating outreach efforts to local businesses; providing information and assistance in response to enquiries and researching, compiling and presenting a variety of data. Considerable independent judgement and action are exercised within the framework of established guidelines while more complex problems and policy matters are discussed with a superior.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and possess a proven track record in the area of business/economic development, with experience in establishing and maintaining liaison activities with a variety of external businesses, working groups, committees and associations.
Along with a degree in a discipline related to the work such as Business Administration, Marketing or Economics, you will have considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
A CUPE hourly rate of $35.68 - $42.12 is being offered, along with a competitive benefits package.
