Number of Positions: 1
Duties: Assists in developing and administering Staff & Organization Development programs and services. Conducts training needs assessments and drafts analysis reports. Researches and makes recommendations of potential training topics and curriculum. Assists in design and delivery of in-person trainings on assigned topics. Communicates with stakeholders both internal and external. Uses authoring tool software to develop online course modules and trainings for eLearning. Uploads online courses to Learning Management System. Uses Microsoft Excel to export data and create detailed reports. Evaluates trainings programs and identifies areas for improvement. Prepares training evaluation summaries for review. Prepares marketing information for upcoming training programs. Coordinates activities relating to scheduling presenters and guest speakers. Maintains training records and prepares reports on training activities and accomplishments. Assists clerical staff with course registration when necessary. Monitors course registration on Learning Management System. Assists with department communication via email to staff. Distributes training materials and prepares training facilities. Assists with updating department’s SharePoint page. Attends meetings and takes notes.
LOCATION: Harold Washington Library Center- Staff & Organizational Development- 400 S. State Street 10th
DAYS OFF: Saturday & Sunday
SHIFT: 37.5 hours per week
HOURS: 8:30-5:00 to be scheduled during normal unit hours
THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field, supplemented by one year of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

VETERANS PREFERENCE NOTE: The City of Chicago offers Veterans Preference to both current, active military personnel AND military personnel who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States and have received an honorable or general discharge. Eligible candidates must have at least six months of active duty documented. This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral and written parts of the interview will be selected.
Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:
(a) Experience in adult education and/or staff training
(b) Knowledge of Microsoft office
(c) Experience working in a government or nonprofit organization setting
(d) Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Leadership or related degree
(e) Experience working with learning management systems
(f) Experience assisting with instructional design and curriculum development
(g) Experience working with authoring tool software (i.e. Articulate, Adobe Captivate)
