The City of Cambridge is currently accepting resumes within the Community Development Department, Parks, Recreation & Culture Division for Temporary Part-time Program Assistants - Aging at Home Program. This unionized position is available immediately.
Bilingual (English and French) is considered an important asset.
Possession of a College level diploma (two years) in Recreation and Leisure, Gerontology, or a related field, or equivalent.
One to two years’ previous related work experience implementing activation and recreation programs in a group or one-to-one basis with individuals who are frail and/or developmentally, cognitively or physically impaired, living with chronic disease or mental health issues, or other populations with special needs.
The hourly wage is within the inside workers union salary scale Job Grade 6 $31.76 to $33.76 per hour. (2019 Rate).
This position is currently located at the William E. Pautler Centre.
Use of a personal vehicle is a requirement to travel to various program sites and to purchase program supplies as needed.
Scheduled shifts and hours will vary according to vacation bookings or last minute sick replacement and will include daytime hours from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday to Saturday.
