The Community Services Attendant delivers superior service to the public through the front-line operation of recreational facilities/parks and related equipment. This position ensures the highest of standards at all City of Cambridge owned community centres and recreation facilities, parks and public spaces by performing maintenance and custodial duties, ensuring the safety and security of facilities and completing all required documentation while operating in a team environment to accomplish positive customer experiences.
2-4 years' experience in parks maintenance, arena services and building maintenance is considered an asset
Possess and maintain a valid unrestricted class “G” Ontario Driver’s License (DZ License is preferred) and must have a satisfactory drivers abstract.
Basic Computer skills/literacy required
Able to perform routine safety inspections on CSD property and equipment
Knowledge of equipment and cleaning tools (per CSA I Outline)
Able to meet personal criteria (per CSA 1 Outline)
Ability to work in varying and extreme weather conditions.
Knowledge and experience in Arena and ice making operations, general building maintenance and the use of maintenance equipment is considered an asset
Demonstrated ability working with management, other employees, and the public in a courteous and efficient manner that emphasizes customer service.
Demonstrated team building skills including interpersonal, communication and problem solving.
This position is within the outside workers union salary schedule and has an hourly rate of $25.67 per hour. (Probationary rate $24.26 will apply for external candidates).
Monday to Sunday, eight hour shifts (40 hours per week) scheduled between 5:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m. with the requirement to be available for overtime, on call duty, and possible shiftwork, as needed.
