Water Management Utilities Analyst At City of Calgary

As the Water Management Utilities Analyst you will gather, analyze, reconcile and report on irrigation-related water usage by Parks and identify irrigation-related electrical issues and coordinate resolution with various customers and stakeholders. Primary duties include:
  • Comply and summarize monthly water usage data and reports for Parks’ management and for staff in Finance in support of water bill accruals, bills external developers for their water usage and uses information to investigate and respond to customers’ inquires.
  • Analyze water usage data to identify anomalies, trends and interact with stakeholders such as staff in Parks, Water Resources, Water Services, developers and ENMAX to identify alternatives and resolve issues.
  • Identify data integrity issues and work with field technicians and systems staff to resolve.
  • Develop and implement procedures that improve process efficiencies and ensure that quality service standards are met.
  • Provide information to other staff, such as Business Support Clerks, on issues such as workflow, priorities and processes.
Qualifications
  • A completed 1 year certificate in Office Administration and 4 years of experience OR;
  • A completed 2 year diploma such as Business Administration and 2 years of experience.
  • Experience must include working with, analyzing and reconciling financial data, applying an advanced level of Microsoft Office Excel and developing complex reports that include pivot tables, pivot charts and macros.
  • Knowledge utilizing Parks Asset Reporting and Information System (PARIS) and Online maps (such as ParcMap, Waterfront, GIS) would be an asset.
  • Core competencies include: Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work on multiple issues at one time.

Compensation: Pay Grade 7 $31.25 - 41.81 per hour (2017 Rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
