Scheduling Lead At City of Calgary

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Project Controls, the Scheduling Lead will support the Green Line business unit with scheduling and analysis activities, including making recommendations related to scheduling reporting, monitoring and analysis, in support of execution of Stage 1 of the Green Line Program. Primary duties include:
  • Support the Senior Manager, Project Controls in establishing and maintaining a formal process for schedule development, monitoring and control.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Project Controls in developing a schedule baseline in line with the work breakdown structure (WBS).
  • Document and communicate baseline schedule assumptions.
  • Coordinate with contractors and functional leads to gather schedule updates.
  • Undertake planning and scheduling for all stages of the project.
  • Develop and update the overall project schedule.
  • Solicit, receive and evaluate scheduling and precedence information from consultants and contractors for incorporation into overall schedule.
  • Incorporate contractor and consultant schedules into the project’s integrated schedule.
  • Prepare networks and sub-networks and perform computer manipulation.


Qualifications
  • A diploma in Engineering or construction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in engineering/ construction management or business management.
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Project) and Oracle P6.
  • Experience with risk analysis software.
  • Proven track record of performing, monitoring and reviewing: 1. schedule development, 2. schedule control, and 3. schedule analysis.
  • Knowledge of applicable Project Management Institute (PMI) and American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) standards and procedures is highly desirable.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Compensation: Unrated Level D-F $70,196 - $135,252 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
