Maintenance Engineer - AMENDMENT At City of Calgary

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be tasked with planning, coordinating, and scheduling all major asset maintenance and rehabilitation activities in order to support the delivery of reliable Water Treatment Plant operations. Primary duties include:
  • Improve the cost effectiveness of the plant maintenance and rehabilitation operations, and extend the service life of plant assets.
  • Provide plant maintenance engineering and asset management technical support for the Water Treatment Plant Operation and Maintenance
  • Research, develop, and implement asset management concepts into the Water Treatment Plant Operation.
  • Help in the development and understanding of asset management concepts in the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operation.
  • Support and sustain the asset rehabilitation program and life cycle budgeting, including reviewing and maintaining asset life cycle profiles for key assets, analyzing historical asset performance, and developing long-term asset rehabilitation requirements.

Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada, and current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) by the first day of work.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant P.Eng experience in Water Treatment Plant engineering, maintenance management, and asset rehabilitation is required.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerit points and no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • Knowledge of asset life cycle management and predictive maintenance techniques will be considered assets.
  • You are an excellent communicator, who works effectively within a group setting.
  • You demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and research new industrial trends and technology.
  • Applicants with less experience may be considered for a modified and more junior engineering position.

Compensation: Engineer Level E $85,682 - 129,370 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with one day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
