Livery Licensing Assistant At City of Calgary

As a Livery Licensing Assistant, you will be responsible for the administrative responsibilities associated with the licensing, enforcement and regulation of the taxi, limousine and transportation network business at The City of Calgary. Primary duties include:
  • Accept and process new and renewal licences, transfers and registration for drivers and vehicles including taxis, accessible taxis, limousines and private for hire vehicles both electronically and in person.
  • Enter data in a computerized licensing system and verify all documentation and information.
  • Liaise with Calgary Police Services on police information checks.
  • Provide administrative support for new driver training and testing.
  • Accept and process payments and perform daily cash reconciliation.
  • Perform various records management duties such as the creation, maintenance and disposition of paper and electronic files, including end of year audits.
  • Respond to inquiries and questions at the counter, via e-mail and by telephone.
  • Provide administrative support to Livery Transport Services management and Community Peace Officers, including word processing, inventory control, ordering and purchasing stationary supplies, and account payable and receivable.
Qualifications
  • A High School Diploma or equivalency (e.g. GED) plus a minimum of 5 years of office experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility, including experience working with the general public and providing high quality customer service.
  • An Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience with Public One Stop Service Experience (POSSE), Physical Objects, Livelink, and PeopleSoft.
  • Success in this position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with initiative and leadership ability. Extensive computer and technical skills are required.
  • Exceptional planning, attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment is essential.

Location: 2116 27 Avenue N.E.
Compensation: Pay Grade 6 $29.35 - 39.24 per hour (2017 Rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
