Network Voice Engineer At Calance US

Location: New York, New York

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform network operations setup, support and network maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, isolate and diagnose network/systems problems
  • Follow-through, resolve and manage problems immediately
  • Maintain current technical skills in your network field of expertise. Keep abreast of developments in computing technology and solutions to common problems.
  • Manage projects, as assigned
  • Handle confidential matters and information professionally
  • Adhere to corporate policies and procedures


Job Knowledge/Skills:
  • Understanding of routing protocols, such as:
o IP, IPX, EIRGP, OSPF, RIP
  • Familiar with UDP
  • Understanding of WAN, LAN, interfaces, protocols, and topology
  • Cisco routing/switching
  • Experience with Palo Alto and firewalls
  • Solid understanding of circuits
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and go-getter attitude
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
  • CCNA certification or similar Cisco certification required, must be willing to work towards a higher-level certification such as CCIE
  • 5 years of networking operations/administration/troubleshooting/maintenance experience required
Experience with Cisco Voice:
o Move, adds, changes
o Configuring a remote destination profile, intercoms, translation patterns
o Knowledge on how-to debug/troubleshoot voice gateways, troubleshoot call quality
o Well versed in Contact Center *This is a must, since most of the day-to-day revolves around Contact Center. Knowing how to script in UCCX editor is a major plus*
o NICE – Call Copy version 5
o Knowledge on how-to add third party SIP devices in Call Manager
o Knowledge on how-to configure hunt pilot, route groups, hunt lists, etc.
o Bulk Administration
o SIP Dial Rule configuration
o • SIP Trunking
o • Add/record greetings for Unity
o • Layer 2/3 networking skills
o • Solarwinds for monitoring
o • Wireshark à Wireshark for network troubleshooting, analysis, software and communications protocol development
o • VLan configurations
o • ServiceNow ticketing systems
