Global Training Specialist At Armstrong Fluid Technology

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Job Description

The position is based in Toronto, Canada, with occasional travel requirements.

In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:

1. Training Program Development And Delivery

  • Work with HR, functional and line leaders across the organization to understand business needs, plan and execute the communication and engagement strategy for the curriculum
  • Develop and manage global programs to ensure they remain engaging, practical, applicable, competency-focused, globally relevant, accessible and affordable
  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to drive awareness, accountability, commitment and transfer of learning into the business

2. Technical Program Delivery

  • Develop and execute technical training for sales, technical support and business partners such as 3rd party representatives, consulting engineers and contractors on our products and service offerings
  • Work with SMEs to continuously evolve the Armstrong Learning Academy curriculum

3. Sales And Sales Support Program Delivery

  • Create and deliver training programs for sales personnel including direct sales, external sales representatives, inside sales and customer service, based on the Armstrong Sales Process and tools
  • Work directly with sales management in every country to support the sales “playbook” including financial modelling, reporting, CRM usage, and sales analysis.
  • Manage external training vendors and special sales training events

4. Business / Organizational Program Delivery

  • Create and deliver business system training for ADEPT Quote and Select, Infor LN and CRM) to ensure users maximize system capability to drive efficiencies and productivity
  • Support learning and knowledge transfer activities around our sustainability and energy upgrade initiatives

5. Coach And Mentor Internal Trainers

  • Provide professional support and coaching for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to enrich program delivery

6. Program Facilitation

  • Facilitate programs as required according to skill base
Role Requirements
  • University Degree or College Diploma: an Engineering degree or equivalent experience with Armstrong products is an asset
  • 7-10 years of experience working in technical training, coaching or advisory roles
  • Experience supporting new product development launches
  • Experience developing and supporting training modules for sales and sales support teams in a multi-channel global environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of training principles, general practices, policies and procedures
  • Strong track record of design, development, facilitation and implementation of learning strategies
  • Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures)
  • Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well thought-out recommendations.
  • Strong, team-oriented leadership skills with presence and a bias for action.
  • Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
  • Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations; a second language would be an asset
