The Cashier reports to the Head Cashier, POS Manager, and Operations Manager
Description of Responsibilities:
- To perform all point-of-sale (POS) cashier-level functions
- To understand and abide by all point-of-sale policies, procedures and directives and effectively execute them
- To support department collaboration with all other departments to insure smooth operation of facility
Policy and Procedure
- Understand, abide by and implement all policies and procedures
- Understand and abide by all directives as given
- Maintain point-of-sales records and insure organization of register paperwork and receipts
Equipment and Systems
- Thoroughly understand and effectively use all systems in relation to the register
- Inform management of any and all needs for repairs and maintenance
Client Service
- Ensure highest standards of client service
- Coordinate the point-of-sale process between client and sales associate or manager
- Provide maximum efficiency for smooth transaction at point-of-sale
Merchandise Maintenance
- Ensure proper handling and care of merchandise
- Ensure all merchandise is ticketed and censored
- Ensure proper packaging and wrapping of purchased merchandise
Facility
- Ensure a clean, organized and professional work space
- Support the operations and maintenance of the store in regards to the facility and fixtures
- Process incoming phone calls and ensure proper greeting and accurate message taking
Human Resources
- Ensure consistent standard of grooming and image
- Abide by all Human Resources policies, procedures and directives
- Participate in staff meetings and training seminars
- Participate in staff meetings and training seminars
Operations
- Provide support to the operations process to insure smooth operation of facility in all areas pertaining to point-of-sale, sales audit and facility maintenance
Loss Prevention
- Abide by and support Loss/Prevention policies and procedures in all areas of risk management, physical security , store controls, inventory management, inter-store communication and L/P audits and procedures
Supplies
- Maintain, stock and ensure supplies necessary for the point-of-sale process
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Preferred retail experience
- Full time (40+ hours a week)
