SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR, INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
POSITION DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Manager, Records and Information Management this job is accountable for administering and/or supporting Brampton’s Electronic Records and Information Management System. This position is responsible for coordinating efforts with peers, other city staff and external resources to maintain and improve the system and implement additional functionality as needed by the City.
Responsible for the corporate and departmental design, configuration and implementation of the City’s electronic record and information management system and the resulting maintenance. This includes designing and implementing team sites, metadata, workflow, information management policies, data management, etc.
Responsible for moving data from the existing shared drives and departmental team sites to the new recordkeeping solution.
Takes a pro-active approach to system maintenance and problem avoidance including responsibility for the technical integrity, administration, maintenance and support of all technical components in the daily operations of the recordkeeping solution.
Stay current with technology trends, track and understand problems with the current environment and determine how to improve service delivery, potential impacts and define how and when to implement changes.
Responsible for working with Corporate I.T. in developing and implementing the maintenance management plan and procedure that will be used to deliver the end solution.
Conducts system reviews to adhere to regulatory, industry standards and corporate policies.
Responsible for the operational level integrity and security of the Departmental Application Production environment within the Department, including design, implementation and enforcement in regards to separation of duties.
Coordinates and delivers training to users and peers on all phases of the project.
Responsible for the design and implementation of a Quality Assurance processes.
Defines, documents, and maintains policies, standard operating procedures, system documentation and associated training plans for the administration and use of the system.
Ensures that controls align with security strategies.
Provides maintenance of system control configurations, application security configurations, diagnostic support, performs database analysis and develops and manages corrective actions in the event that issues arise that impact the systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional programme of three to four years or in Computer
Science or equivalent – (details about degree)
Over two years, up to and including four years experience in system development, integration or system administration or equivalent.
Certification in systems analysis, design and development an asset
SQL and Crystal Report Writer experience an asset;
Strong Knowledge of Municipal Government and applicable Legislation an asset
Proven ability to lead and motivate staff, promote a safe environment and ensure staff comply with legislative standards an asset
