Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Staff Accountant provides accounting support in a one-on-one working relationship. The Staff Accountant must have strong accounting and technical skills with strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Staff Accountant will be flexible, can work independently, have excellent time management skills and exercise discretion about confidential matters.
Process Accounts Payable and all Billing, Client Rent Payments and various reimbursements (including Opportunity Housing)
Approve credit card expense reports ensuring proper account, donor, class, etc.
Process incoming and outgoing gift card transactions and perform reconciliations with physical cards
Export donor database deposit batches to accounting software
Update billable payroll transactions with funding information and FICA modifications
Do all recurring GL Postings including: Prepaid Allocations; Cash Deposits; Credit Cards; Accruals; Fixed Assets and In-Kind Donations

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years Accounting experience. Must possess strong analytical abilities and a good knowledge of bookkeeping and A/P procedures. Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors. Very strong verbal, written, organizational and time-management abilities. Must have strong interpersonal skills and consistent attention to detail. Advanced computer skills working with various office equipment, computers and various programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, QuickBooks, Bill.com, and Concur etc. and the ability to effectively work on spreadsheets, word processing, networking, and e-mail programs.
