Internships at ACF provide an opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in community philanthropy and insight into the nonprofit sector that can only be obtained through participating in the industry’s work. ACF’s internships are thoughtfully designed to help you build your career while making a lasting impact on the local community. Internship opportunities are available in all of the foundation’s business units, including philanthropy, community, information services, finance, investments, and communications. Interns gain professional skills in project planning, teamwork, and interpersonal communication, as well as other specialized skills depending on the intern’s placement within ACF. Additionally, interns gain exposure to a fast-paced, collaborative office environment and develop experience working on a variety projects with our experienced team of professionals. Internships will culminate with a final project presentation to ACF’s executive leadership team. Internships are typically structured as eight-week, part-time placements (25 hours per week).
Reporting to the Controller, Accounting Interns will provide support to projects in the areas of finance and human resources. Typical duties include:
This internship will enable the successful candidate to obtain valuable specialized experience in nonprofit administration. A stipend will be paid bi-monthly for the duration of the internship. This position may satisfy requirements for earning college credit.
